The 8th Virginia Infantry Regiment Company K was founded and incorporated in the state

of Virginia on August 2005 and we are a non profit organization.

All of the founding members had been doing reenacting before, and some as long as 18 years.

A friendship and comradery was formed among each of us in something each of us loved doing

and believed in our unit continues to grow and welcome all new members.

It is the intention of each of us to educate the public on the War and to accurately portray the life

of soldiers and their families during the time of the Civil War.

We are a family oriented unit with members of men, women and children.

We are not associated with any political or racial groups of any kind.

We are also involved with preservation of local, state, and national historical sites.

We follow the original soldiers in everything as much as possible.
